Why do the Crestview numbers differ?
Each number uses a different basis. The 1.1 mile figure is a straight line to the station point on OpenStreetMap. The 1.4 mile figure is the drive distance on the Apartments.com listing. The 1.7 and 2.3 mile figures are to the neighborhood point, which is the middle of the neighborhood, not its edge.
A station and a neighborhood are also different places. Crestview Station sits at North Lamar and Airport Boulevard, on the east side of the neighborhood. If you plan to take rail, use the station numbers. If you want to know how far the neighborhood’s shops and streets are, use the neighborhood numbers. Read the Red Line glossary entry for how the line works.
What does Crestview have next to Centro’s area?
Crestview and Highland share a border. Wikipedia says the east side of Crestview meets the Highland neighborhood and North Lamar Boulevard. Centro is in ZIP code 78752, and the 78752 glossary entry explains that area.
That shared edge is why the two places show up together on rail and bus maps. Crestview Station and Highland Station are both MetroRail stops. Centro is 1.1 miles from the first and 0.7 miles from the second, both in a straight line. Walking to Highland Station is 1.3 miles on foot, 28 to 33 minutes, per Google Maps on 2026-11-02. The Highland neighborhood page covers the home area.
