Pro-rated rent is rent for a partial month. If you move in on the 16th of a 30-day month, you pay for 15 days, not 30.
The math
Monthly rent divided by days in the month gives the daily rate. Multiply by the days you stay.
| Monthly rent | Days in month | Move-in day | Days charged | Pro-rated rent |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| $699 | 30 | 16th | 15 | $349.50 |
This is an example using the “Homes starting at $699” price. It is not a Centro bill. Some properties count days differently, so ask how yours does it.
How it shows up at Centro
Centro has not published how it pro-rates a first month. Move-in costs to plan for include the deposit (starting at $500), the $50 application fee, and your first rent. See the move-in costs guide.
Centro currently lists “up to 8 weeks free on select floor plans; offers vary by floor plan.” A move-in special may change how rent is billed. Ask the office how a special works with a partial first month.
Compare the total monthly price with the starting price before you decide.
