Administrative fee

An administrative fee is a charge paid at approval to cover lease paperwork. At Centro it is returned if you are denied.

An administrative fee covers the cost of setting up your lease. It is paid once, usually when you are approved or when you sign.

Policies differ. At many properties it is not refundable. That makes it important to ask when you pay it and what happens if the application is denied.

Centro Studio Homes says its administrative fee is returned if you are denied. That is the client’s published policy. Fees are estimates and actual amounts may vary.

Think of the administrative fee as a separate line from the deposit:

  1. Application fee: paid to apply, $50, non-refundable at Centro.
  2. Administrative fee: paid at approval, returned at Centro if denied.
  3. Security deposit: held against damage, starting at $500 for studios.

When you ask for a rent quote, ask the office to list every one-time charge, with the dollar amount. Then add them up before you tour.

See the full list of published costs on the deposits page.
