A month-to-month lease has no set end date. It renews each month until you or the owner gives notice. The notice period is in the lease (often 30 days).
The trade-off is cost for flexibility. Monthly rent is often higher than on a 12-month lease. In return, you can leave without paying to break a lease.
Some people also end up month-to-month when a 12-month lease expires and the lease says it converts. Check your lease for that clause.
Questions to ask:
- Is month-to-month offered for my home?
- How much higher is the rent?
- How many days of notice do I owe?
- Can the owner raise the price?
Centro Studio Homes has not published a month-to-month option. It does list Furnished Short Term Rentals at $1,954 per month and says to contact the office. Ask whether a month-to-month term exists at Centro.
