Hard surface flooring

Any floor that is not carpet, such as vinyl plank, tile, laminate or wood. Landlords often use the term for floors made to look like wood.

Hard surface flooring means a floor with no carpet. Common types are vinyl plank, laminate, tile and wood. Many look like wood but are made of other materials.

What to know as a renter

Hard floors wipe clean and show spills fast. They can be louder than carpet, so many renters use rugs. Ask the property what the floor is made of if it matters to you.

How it shows up at Centro

Centro’s own description says its remodeled apartments have “hard surface floors throughout.” Its amenity list says “hardwood-style floors.” Centro does not publish the exact material. It rebuilt its 306 studios in 2019-2020 from the studs out.

See the floors in person or online: photo gallery or virtual tour. Each floor plan page has more detail.

A studio apartment puts living, sleeping and kitchen space in one room, so the floor runs through all of it. Pair this with the quartz countertop entry for the kitchen finish.
