# Rental application

The form, documents and fee you submit so a property can review you for a lease. It starts the screening process.

A rental application is the request to lease a home. You fill out a form, share documents and pay a fee. The property then reviews you in [screening](https://centro.multisites.ai/glossary/screening).

## What it costs at Centro

Centro lists a $50 [application fee](https://centro.multisites.ai/glossary/application-fee). It is non-refundable. Centro also lists an [administrative fee](https://centro.multisites.ai/glossary/administrative-fee) that is returned if you are denied. Deposits start at $500.

Fees are estimates and actual amounts may vary. Pricing and availability are subject to change.

## How to apply

Centro takes applications online through its leasing portal. Before you pay, check three things:

1.  The current price of the floor plan you want.
2.  The move-in date you need.
3.  Centro’s screening criteria, which the leasing office can explain.
