# Car-light living

Using foot, bike and transit for most trips and a car only when needed. It cuts parking, fuel and insurance costs.

Car-light living means you plan most trips without driving. You walk, bike or ride transit, and you use a car for the trips that need one. It is not the same as car-free.

## What it takes

1. A place to keep a bike.
2. A transit stop you can reach.
3. Errands within a short trip.
4. A plan for the trips that need a car.

## What Centro states

Centro lists [bike storage](https://centro.multisites.ai/glossary/bike-storage), Echelon bikes in the fitness center and reserved parking available. It states these distances: 1/2 mile to ACC Highland, 4 miles to UT and 5 miles to downtown. It also lists I-35, US 290 and US 183 as nearby highways.
