# Approval with conditions

An approval that comes with a requirement, such as a higher deposit, because the application did not fully meet the standard.

Approval with conditions means the property says yes if you meet an extra requirement. The most common one is a higher [security deposit](https://centro.multisites.ai/glossary/security-deposit).

Austin Apartment Locators notes that some Austin properties “may approve with conditions and a higher deposit.” Each property decides its own terms.

## How it works

1.  You submit a [rental application](https://centro.multisites.ai/glossary/rental-application).
2.  The property runs [screening](https://centro.multisites.ai/glossary/screening).
3.  If you are close but short, it may offer approval with a condition.
4.  You accept the condition or decline.

## How it shows up at Centro

Centro lists deposits that start at $500. Centro also lists an [administrative fee](https://centro.multisites.ai/glossary/administrative-fee) that is returned if you are denied.

The Centro website does not publish what conditions it may set or when. Ask the leasing office before you apply.
